KP Black (Krystyna Parafinczuk Black), Chicago dance performer and choreographer, now resides in Tucson and is producing her first dance concert at the Berger Performing Arts Center, 1200 West Speedway in Tucson on Sunday, November 16, 2003, at 3:30 pm. Inspired by infectious music and great choreography, the show is entitled Boogie-Woogie and a Bit o' Blues. Tap dancers from across Tucson and the U of A will be tappin' to the boogie-woogie beat showcasing a style of tap popular in the early to mid-1900s. Guest performers will include:

• Professor Paul, blues authority, giving a brief history and piano demonstration of boogie-woogie music and singing.
• Michael Allen, nationally recognized performer, choreographer, hoofer and author.
• Joe Bourne, international award-winning vocalist, singing his rendition of a classic "blues" song in celebration of this Year of the Blues.
• The HOT FLASHES, an internationally famous senior tap performing company.

Guest choreographer is Tucson's own Frank Trent, award-winning master tap dancer and dance educator. Trent's father was one of the first to put tap dancing to boogie-woogie music in the '20s making Trent the perfect choreographer for Krystyna's first dance performance in Tucson.

Due to a European concert tour, local boogie-woogie entertainer Lisa Otey and Mr. Boogie Woogie from Holland will participate in this celebration via video, giving a sample of Tucson's and Europe's boogie-woogie craze.
