Krystyna Parafinczuk is a dance specialist currently focusing on research,
choreography and production. In 2002 she moved to Tucson, Arizona,
from Chicago, Illinois, to pursue graduate studies in teaching and the
psychology of dance performance and training. She has presented her work
at the National Dance Educators Organization conference (2003),
the University of Arizona (2002-3), the International Dance Councils
19th World Congress on Dance Research (2005) and the Tucson Cox Cable
broadcast network (2006). Research projects include: Dance and our
Human Energy Centers (Chakras), Imagery in Ballet (Lecture/Demonstration),
Psychological Components of Dance Training and Performance (Lecture),
The Evolution of Boogie-Woogie: the Meaning, the Music and the Dance
(Lecture/Demonstration/DVD presentation on the motivational effect of a
specific music style on the world). Publications: ON TAP magazine
(pub: International Tap Association) Taps to Boogie: A Percussive Relationship.
Krystyna teaches and choreographs in various locations in and
around Tucson. She has trained at Access Tucson in video and studio
production and is a board member of the Arizona Dance Coalition and member of the International
Tap Association. July 2006 marked Krystynas
25th anniversary as a member of the Chicago National Association of Dance Masters
where she has earned the distinction of Master Dance Educator.
